30 May Our First 2 Weeks

So we have officially been in Mae Sai for 2 weeks! Crazy! Our Brazilian teammates left for Brazil for surgery within our first week here. It stinks to see them go, but was also excited to get to pray with them about what God might have for them while they are home. We just have to wait a few months and they will be back though (Angel is itching to speak more Portuguese with them)!

We are still staying at Brandon and Aum’s as we get the last few things set in our house. The curtains should be installed tomorrow and then we can sleep there! (Our house is right on the road and anyone could see in at night if we didn’t have curtains) Angel has loved getting the house together and officially getting the chance to “nest.” We still don’t have transportation and have been borrowing some bikes to get around town. It has been a blast! Brandon and Aum have been out of town this whole week, so Nirut has been helping us navigate and we have gotten a much better feel of the town by having to pedal everywhere! ^_^

The political situation hasn’t affected us at all, and if you read BBC you probably know more about it than we do way up here. Continue to pray for our transition and for patience. We are still adjusting to the change of pace as our lives in the States were Go! Go! Go! It is easy to try to do everything really quickly in our own strength, but I feel God teaching me about patience and dependance on a team rather than my individual abilities. Tough life lesson – but they usually are, aren’t they?
