Computer Training & Language

We haven’t written very frequently but starting now we are planning to write more regularly. I also figured out the email updates – so you should get an email when we post a new blog. If you don’t want that frequent of updates feel free to unsubscribe (you will still get the quarterly Updates). If you don’t get the blog updates and would like them, then let us know!

We have officially been here for over 2 months! On one hand it seems like we have been here forever and on the other it feels like we just arrived. We continue to take Thai class 3 times a week and that continues to challenge us. We are both growing in that area but it can be a slow process. I am learning how to read and write and Angel is learning conversation. Please pray for our language learning!

Two weeks ago I had the huge privilege to teach a two day Computer Training to pastors from the Myanmar. Brandon and Aum were out of town the first day so it was all up to us! Tom (a new Thai staff) helped tremendously by cooking lunch for everyone, Angel helped me prepare and get everything set up. Then when Brandon came back he helped share about how to use Power Point for ministry. It really was a team effort!

Technology is very new over in Burma and we want these evangelists to be on the cutting edge. We went over email, how to send large documents or pictures, anti-virus software and Power Point. It was a great time and they seemed to learn a lot. Before we do the next training I want to get a step-by-step instruction packet for them in their language though. None of them speak Thai, so I wasn’t able to explain very easily except through the two leaders that were helping to translate. Computers can be confusing, especially if they are in a language you don’t understand! Pray that these ministers would be able to use technology to spread the Gospel. I saw how God was really using my time working as an IT technician and then my time working at my brother’s internet advertising company for His glory. So cool!

I have so many things we haven’t written about –  like my time in Nepal, teaching an English class a few weeks ago, Tuesday night worship, Dance class, and just life in general! We’ll have to write a few quick posts soon!

Write.Post.Blog.as often as you can and want. We love seeing and reading about any and all aspects of your lives. Thankyou for taking the time to share as it helps us stay feeling connected to you both. And it helps to know how to pray for you and your friends there.

Thank you very much for the update on here AND via USPS. I know it takes time away from other priorities to do so, but it is appreciated.

I am so excited to hear how God has prepared you AND Angela to go on this field of service for Him. Imagine using your time at Andrew’s company! You are both very dear to me.
    Love you,
    Grammy

I know I am reading this late… but it is still awesome to hear this update! And to see the pictures of you teaching “in action.” God doesn’t waste anything.
