Adoption, Family, Life / 18.11.2019

Adoption is not, and never has been, our “plan B.”   We always knew adoption would be part of our story before we got married (or even engaged).  At our wedding, a friend gave us a book with a bunch of fun lists to make for dreaming about the future. There was a page titled “List the Things You Want to Do in Life,” and on our honeymoon, we started filling it out. Number 1 on this list?  “Adopt.”  We planned to have one or two biological children before adopting. This...

Adoption, Family, Life / 05.10.2019

This is a decision that has been a long time coming and not one that has been made lightly. After feeling prompted by the Lord, we made the decision last spring that now is the time for us to start the adoption process.  Although we made the decision a while ago, we now want to share the story about how we got here! So I am going to write a series of blog posts about the journey we have been on with adoption. It is still in...

Family, Life, SBS, Training / 16.05.2019

We have had the privilege of hosting quite a few of you here in Montana and would love to have even more of you come visit! When we lived in the dorm we had a few visitors (we're looking at you Nick & Kristin!), but filling that tiny one-room dorm room with a queen sized air mattress doesn't really work for most visitors. Last fall we started renting a beautiful home very close to the YWAM campus and with an extra bedroom and plenty of space we have been...

Family, Life, Thailand / 06.12.2015

It has been so long since we last updated everyone! We had a fantastic time in the States celebrating two weddings, teaching at church,  joining in on family vacations, catching up with good friends, and simply enjoying family dinners once again. [caption id="attachment_992" align="aligncenter" width="300"] Michael & Katie were married at the end of October and JP & Stephanie got engaged at the beginning of November![/caption] [caption id="attachment_994" align="aligncenter" width="300"] Bowling night with the growing Scarbrough family! We will be welcoming a second niece in January and celebrating Andrew &...

Life, Thailand / 04.01.2014

Our very first Christmas together was so much fun! We spread Christmas over 3 days starting on Christmas Eve with Angela's mom, Christmas morning with my parents, and then Christmas evening and the next day near Nashville with Angela's dad and family. I have known we are moving to Thailand for awhile, but I haven't felt it until Christmas Day. We were playing games with my family when I realized we were late to skype JP (Angela's brother and my best friend) and then drive to Angela's dad's. So...

Life / 21.11.2013

It is a crazy time in our lives. We thought, "If we can just get through the wedding phase, then our lives will slow down and we can breathe." As we got ready to go to sleep last night we both talked about how exhausted we were and then how early it was! We're getting old! ; ) Between our relationship with each other (and adjusting to married life), our jobs, church, family and friends, and also planning for our big move to Thailand (and the support raising that...
