SBS, Training / 28.07.2016

If you have read our Summer Update then you know that Angela and I will be attending a School of Biblical Studies (SBS) in Montana starting in September! This was definitely out of left field for us at first, but when we felt God directing us to apply for the school, we prayed and prayed, felt His peace, and know this is the next step He has for us. We will be in Montana from September, 2016 until June, 2017 going through the whole Bible book by book....

DTS, Southeast Asia, Thailand / 02.04.2016

After two weeks of outreach in Thailand, we are back in Cambodia for the last two weeks of DTS lecture. This week’s topic has been on Evangelism and then next week we are having a group from Africa come to teach on how God calls all nations/people to reach all nations/people. This will be such a great time for our Thai students and all the other Southeast Asia students to see that God does not just call westerners to missions, but all people to fulfill the Great Commission....

Southeast Asia / 04.03.2016

We are in Cambodia!  Since our Discipleship Training School (DTS) is ASEAN-themed (Association of Southeast Asian Nations), our school and nine others from ASEAN countries have come together in Battambang, Cambodia for four more weeks of teaching.  All the schools will have a “mini” two-week outreach in the middle of teaching as well.  At the end of this week our team will be doing our mini outreach in the province of Trat in southeastern Thailand. Cambodia is such a beautiful and colorful country.  There are certain similarities between Cambodia...

Thailand / 19.02.2016

The month of February has been busy and exciting as God is moving and surprising us in wonderful ways! He has been teaching us in our Discipleship Training School (DTS) through many speakers and topics that have been so stretching and beneficial in our walk with Christ. The Lord has also been moving mightily among the Loy people and this is what I am most excited about! A few weeks ago in prayer, the Lord showed me a picture of one of the Loy girls, who is about 14....

For Christmas this year we decided to throw a big family party for all of our Loy friends! We had only done one other Family Night (back in October 2014) and thought that Christmas was the perfect time to invite all the families of the kids who come to Kids Club every Saturday. As is the case anytime we get together and celebrate with our Loy friends, it was so much fun! They all loved seeing pictures and videos from this past year of Kids Club activities and Summer...

Family, Life, Thailand / 06.12.2015

It has been so long since we last updated everyone! We had a fantastic time in the States celebrating two weddings, teaching at church,  joining in on family vacations, catching up with good friends, and simply enjoying family dinners once again. [caption id="attachment_992" align="aligncenter" width="300"] Michael & Katie were married at the end of October and JP & Stephanie got engaged at the beginning of November![/caption] [caption id="attachment_994" align="aligncenter" width="300"] Bowling night with the growing Scarbrough family! We will be welcoming a second niece in January and celebrating Andrew &...

Family, Thailand / 11.08.2015

We are so excited to tell you all that Naam Pueng is doing great! The surgery was a success and she will have full motion in her arm! Thank you so much for all those that gave towards her surgery. After one of her check ups her parents invited us all over to their house for dinner to thank us. Her mom told us that she couldn't sleep many nights thinking, "How will we ever repay [our team] for helping pay for the surgery?" She told us that...

Thailand / 27.05.2015

Hi family and friends, We have a pretty unique situation that we would like to ask you all to pray about. About a month ago one of our girls from Kids Club, little 9 year old Naam Peung, fell off a ledge and broke her arm. When it happened they had a spirit doctor come and try to set it and they wrapped it in weird things they believed would heal it. When we saw her we prayed for her and told the family they should go to...

Thailand / 16.04.2015

This week Thailand celebrated Songkran, which is the Thai New Year. It is celebrated by three days of a nation-wide water fight! This is by far one of my favorite holidays and I love being in Thailand during this time! We had the privilege of being invited to eat with some of our Loy friends at their house on Tuesday morning. We had flower noodle soup, sunflower seeds, traditional Loy rice snacks and Coke & Fanta. Little did we know that this meal would become very familiar to us over...

Thailand / 04.04.2015

Gungfu and Yii went to take their test last Wednesday and found out the results yesterday - they passed! Gungfu's mom cried when they all went to the school because she was so happy her son didn't have to go be a monk, but could continue to live with them and go to high school! The boys did great on the exam and were placed in the second classroom (Thailand places you in rooms depending on how well you test). Keep praying for Gam (the 3rd boy, and Yii's older...
